Lords Bot Won't Open
What to do when Lords Bot closes straight away, shows an error on start, or seems to run without a window.
If Lords Bot doesn’t open, closes straight away or shows an error when it starts, work through this page from the top. Most cases are fixed by updating Lords Bot and installing Windows updates.
First: update Lords Bot and Windows
- Run LordsBotSetup.exe (it is also in your install folder). If it shows Update available, click Update. If any files are missing or damaged, it downloads them again.
- Install all Windows updates: Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Restart when asked.
- Start Lords Bot again.
The bot closes straight away with no window
On Windows that is missing updates, older versions of Lords Bot could close immediately on some newer processors, sometimes with a .NET error 0x80131506 or a message that Windows doesn’t fully support CET. Restarting or reinstalling doesn’t help on its own. Update Lords Bot to the latest version and install all Windows updates, as above.
Also check that your Windows is supported: Windows 10 (version 1607) or later or Windows Server 2016 or later, 64-bit.
An error box, then the setup opens
When Lords Bot hits an error while starting, it shows a message with its version number and the error, then opens Lords Bot Setup to repair the install. Click Update (or Launch if it says You’re up to date). If the same error comes back, copy the message and send it to staff on Discord.
Right after installing: “Restart to finish”
If the setup ended with Restart to finish, Windows must restart before the .NET runtime it installed works. Until then, Lords Bot can’t start. Restart your PC, then open Lords Bot.
Antivirus removed the bot
If LordsMobileBot.exe is missing from the install folder, or the shortcut says the file can’t be found, your antivirus has probably quarantined it. See SmartScreen and Antivirus Warnings, then run LordsBotSetup to restore the files.
The bot is running but you can’t see it
- It is in the system tray. If Minimize to Tray is ticked on the bottom bar of the main window, Lords Bot hides in the tray. Click the Lords Bot icon in the tray, or right-click it and choose Show Lords Bot.
- Lords Monitor started it without a window. If Lords Monitor runs as a Windows service or as a scheduled task set to “Run whether user is logged on or not”, the bot it starts has no window. It shows under Background processes in Task Manager. End it there, and start the Monitor with its Run at Windows startup setting instead. See Lords Monitor.
Sign-in windows are blank
If the Google, Facebook or other sign-in windows stay blank, or Lords Bot says WebView2 is not installed on this computer, click Yes to install it, or run LordsBotSetup again, which installs it. You may need to restart your PC afterwards.
