Updates and the Beta Channel

How Lords Bot tells you about updates, how to install them, and how to switch between the Public and Beta versions.

Updated 8 Oct 2026

Lords Bot checks for new versions by itself and tells you when one is ready. Updates are installed by LordsBotSetup, the same program that installed the bot. Only the files that changed are downloaded, so most updates are small and quick. Your accounts and settings are never changed by an update.

How you hear about an update

While Lords Bot is open, it checks for a new version about once an hour, and also on the sign-in screen. When one is out, a Windows notification says An update is available for Lords Bot, click here to continue. If you don’t act on it, it reminds you again about 12 hours later.

You can also check yourself: in the main window, open Settings > Check for updates.

Note: Keep the bot up to date. When a version gets too old, the Lords Bot server stops accepting it, and signing in fails with Application is out of date, please update to the latest version!

Install an update

  1. Click the notification, or choose Settings > Check for updates. The Lords Bot Setup window opens over the bot.
  2. It shows Update available with the number of items and the download size. Under that you can read:
    • What’s new in this version;
    • Previous versions, the notes for earlier releases;
    • What’s being updated, the files that will change.
  3. Click Update. Keep the window open until it finishes.
  4. When it says All set, the bot starts again by itself.

If there is nothing to install, the window says You’re up to date.

During the update, LordsBotSetup closes Lords Bot and Lords Monitor so it can replace their files. Your running accounts stop. Afterwards:

  • If Lords Monitor was running, the setup starts the Monitor again and the Monitor starts the bot (The Monitor has been restarted and will start the bot).
  • Otherwise the setup starts the bot itself.

To have your accounts start again without you, tick Remember Me and Auto Start on the sign-in screen, and Auto-Start for each account on the grid. Lords Monitor’s Auto-login (on by default) then signs the bot in; see Lords Monitor. If you don’t use the Monitor, also tick Auto Login on the sign-in screen so the bot signs itself in.

Note: An update closes every Lords Bot and Lords Monitor running on the PC, not just the one being updated. If you run several installs, only the updated install starts again by itself. Start the others again yourself.

What an update does and doesn’t change

  • Each downloaded file is checked before it is used, and the main programs (Lords Bot and Lords Monitor) must carry the publisher’s signature, JDN Tech Pty Ltd. If a check fails, the update stops with Update couldn’t be verified and nothing is changed.
  • Your config folder, appSettings.json, templates, filters and logs are never touched.
  • If an update fails, your installed version keeps working. See Install Lords Bot.

See what changed

In the main window, open Settings > View Changelog for the release notes of recent versions. The latest notes are also on lords-bot.com.

The Beta channel

There are two update channels:

  • Public: the normal, stable version. Most people should use this.
  • Beta: a test version with the newest changes. It gets fixes and features sooner, but may have more problems.

To switch:

  1. In the main window, open Settings > Options > Other Settings.
  2. Open the Updates tab and set Update Channel: to Public or Beta.
  3. Close the window to save, then choose Settings > Check for updates. The setup window installs the version for your channel. On Beta, it shows a Beta tag.

When a beta has finished testing and its changes are in a Public release, the bot shows You’re on an old test version - click to move to the stable release. Click it to switch back to Public and install the Public version.
