SmartScreen and Antivirus Warnings

Lords Bot is code-signed by JDN Tech Pty Ltd. How to check the signature, get past SmartScreen and stop antivirus from removing files.

Updated 8 Oct 2026

Lords Bot’s programs are digitally signed by JDN Tech Pty Ltd, the company behind Lords Bot. Windows SmartScreen or your antivirus may still warn about them, mostly because a bot program is uncommon software. This page shows how to check that a file is genuine and how to let it run.

Which files are signed

  • LordsBotSetup.exe: the installer and updater.
  • LordsMobileBot.exe: Lords Bot itself.
  • Monitor.exe: Lords Monitor.

The updater also checks the signature on Lords Bot and Lords Monitor before it installs them, and the bot checks the updater’s signature before running a downloaded copy.

Only download Lords Bot from lords-bot.com. The download comes from cdn.lords-bot.com.

Check the signature

  1. Right-click the file and choose Properties.
  2. Open the Digital Signatures tab.
  3. The signer should be JDN Tech Pty Ltd.

If there is no Digital Signatures tab, or the signer is anyone else, don’t run the file. Delete it and download it again from lords-bot.com.

“Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen)

When you run the setup, Windows may show a blue Windows protected your PC window.

  1. Click More info.
  2. Check that the Publisher is JDN Tech Pty Ltd.
  3. Click Run anyway.

If the publisher shows as Unknown publisher, don’t run it; download it again from lords-bot.com.

Antivirus removes or blocks files

Some antivirus programs quarantine Lords Bot files or stop them from starting. Signs of this are a missing LordsMobileBot.exe, the bot not opening, or the setup failing part way.

  1. Open your antivirus and restore any Lords Bot files from quarantine.
  2. Add the Lords Bot install folder (by default %LocalAppData%\Lords Bot) to the antivirus exclusions. If your antivirus has separate web protection settings, add LordsMobileBot.exe there too, so it doesn’t block the bot’s connection.
  3. Run LordsBotSetup.exe again. It checks every file against the published version and downloads any that are missing or damaged.

Setup error messages caused by security software

Message What to do
Couldn’t install the .NET Desktop runtime … This is usually antivirus or SmartScreen blocking the installer. Your antivirus or SmartScreen stopped Microsoft’s .NET installer. Install the .NET Desktop Runtime yourself from the link in the message, then run LordsBotSetup again.
The download keeps arriving altered — usually antivirus, a web filter, or a proxy. Something on your network is changing the downloaded files. Try a different network (a phone hotspot or a VPN), or turn off your antivirus web protection while you install.
Lords Bot Setup needs the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, and it could not be installed automatically. Install the WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft’s website (the link is in the message), then run LordsBotSetup again.
Update couldn’t be verified A downloaded file failed its security check, so nothing was changed. Try again on a trusted network. If it keeps happening, don’t continue; ask staff on Discord.
